Family Christmas Games for TV Lovers

Christmas is a time of the year when the whole family comes together to enjoy the Holidays.  When you have great games to play together, this simply adds to the fun and excitement of being with the family.  In this article, we will look at great Family Christmas Games for families that love to watch television.

If your family is anything like my family, you have a lot of family members who like to watch television.  In my family, while we all have many hobbies, we are all also unapologetic television watchers.  We each have individual shows that we like and we also come together as a family to watch shows that entertain us all.

Academics will tell you that watching television is a passive experience that does not increase your intellectual prowess one iota.  But, to my family, it’s great entertainment.

And, now, with new, fun family games on the market, we can prove our TV watching prowess in the games called SceneIt.

The idea of the SceneIt games is fantastic.  The SceneIt games come on DVD and they include trivia and clips from your favorite shows.  The more trivia that you can answer about the television show, the better that you will do.

When my wife and I have dinner parties, our favorite game to play in this genre is Seinfeld SceneIt.  My wife and I each claim to be Seinfeld experts but our friends do too.  We all grew up watching Seinfeld and think we know every Seinfeld script by heart.

Thus, our knowledge is put to the test by this Seinfeld game.  We gather as a group, pop in the SceneIt DVD, grab the board game, and go to it.  Soon, we are reminded of our favorite episodes–Are You Master of Your Domain?– and enjoying a festive night with our collective recollections of Seinfeld.

For family Christmas Games, the Seinfeld series is perfect for the adults in the family once the kids have gone off to bed.  However, this series is not limited to just Seinfeld.  With the popularity of the initial game, this series has branched out into many different television shows spanning many genres.

For the kids, there are is the Harry Potter addition to test their knowledge of the Harry Potter series.  And, if you have seen these shows with them, you can test your knowledge too.  Also for the kids, there is a Disney addition, a Pirates of the Caribbean and much more…check out the CSI edition of the game!

Though board games such as the Trivial Pursuit Family Edition and new Monopoly Electronic Edition continue to be a mainstay in our Christmas family tradition, we have branched out with these new television games which provide immense Christmas Holiday fun for the whole family and allow us to put our TV prowess on display.

Overall this was a fairly good review, it is not as good as the Action 52 review for the NES or Genesis but it’s a great video to watch at Christmas time…it brings back memories (mostly bad ones from playing all these shitty games, lol).
